If we break down a presentation, take away the content which should be the 80% of your focus and that leaves 20% of your focus on timeliness, speed control, eye contact, emergencies, slides, the loudness of your voice (otherwise someone in the back room will yell at you) etc, etc. A good pronunciation will certainly enhance clarity, but, probably only accounts 1% of the effectiveness of good speech.
What most likely will happen is, especially on your first several public speeches, your head is blank and you will lose 60% of the content you have prepared. You have to speak very loud and that will result in distorting your sound, forget perfect pronunciation. If you are nervous, you don't even know what had happened after the speech.
Time is always the enemy of public speech. In most cases, the organizer will push you to finish it on time or cut you off forcibly. I don't believe a speaker will think about his pronunciation at that moment.
With all due respect for Slowdownforrose whose pronunciation is good, no doubt about it, what I want to remind everybody is that public speech is very stressful and it is impossible to pronounce each word under those circumstances.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
