I got P-0.9% in July, is expiring before this weekend. The manager provided me an option 1-year fixed 1.99%, just approved last week. My previous mortgage is 1-yr fixed signed Nov last year. Why P-0.9% is better? Just becasue not available now, or other reason? Thanks!

1. vrm went up
2. P will stay for a while, could even be decreased
3. have choice to switch to a fixed rate if there is a better deal for 3, 4 or 5 years fixed
4. 1 year 1.99 is in fact a very good deal, but it is too short

I have exactly same thought with you. BUt my hub mentioned that we chose 1-year fixed 2.1% w cash back, actual 2.0%, rather than P-0.9% in last Nov is a good example. I think both options are good, that is my problem. -linsh(linsh); 2011-9-20 (#6930806@0)
