it happened to me in a winter, when the car on my left,a couple of cars ahead of me, was making its left turn, and there was no car in front of me, fortunately I noticed ahead that there would be somebody trying to make the left turn, since the car on my left blocks his view as well, so I slow down a little bit, all a sudden, a car by a young guy was trying to make a quick left turn in my expectation, I applied the brake heavily and so did he just before we hit each other,,, well, all we can do is just be prepared.
