According to the Municipal Elections Act (URL below):
*every employee who is an elector is entitled, during voting hours on polling day, to have 3 consecutive hours for the purpose of casting his or her vote;
*if his or her hours of work do not allow for those 3 consecutive hours, his or her employer shall allow the time for voting that is necessary to provide those 3 consecutive hours;
*any time off to vote is granted at a time that best suits the employer;
*the employer cannot make a deduction from an employee’s pay due to an absence from work to vote during these 3 consecutive hours.
