本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I guess even if I spend 5 more years on English, I cannot talk about animals correctly in English. Not because there are too many animals.
We know that wolves seldom live independently. Actually, they form packs. Hence, English-speaking people say "a pack", or " the pack".
A pack is lead by alpha male, after which are alpha female, beta male, beta female ..
I guess some friends have ever watched a Disney picture titled "Simba's pride". What does the word "pride" mean here? I do believe some friends may have misunderstood this word. Actually, the pride means
all those lions led by the lion king. The word "pride" here has nothing to do with "being proud of".
In our childhood, our brain has been formatted in a Chinese style. Now
we are trying to put English contents onto this Chinese format. Our brain is like a broken heap space... can we anticipate a good performance?
(For non-programmers: Heap is an arrange of memory in the computer,
in which programmers can create and destroy objects. Heap is a very rare resource for programmers. If we abuse heap, it will be full of "holes"----although there are heap spaces, few can be used because they are too tiny. My explanation may not to the point. I hope some programmer friends can give a more pertinent explanation.)更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
