College courses are transferable to UofT

There are many conditions apply. For example, with a 3 - year College diploma, you may only receive only 1 full year (or less) worth of UofT credits whereas Ryerson and York might offer you more credits. The reasons most College graduate did not apply to UofT are because: 1) transfer credit offering is very minimum 2) admission standard is very high because UofT require their students to have pre-requisit studies such as OAC English and OAC calculus. Most College students don't have those credits back in high school. 3) After spending 3 years in College, most College grads do not wish to study another 3 or more years in university to get their degree.

I have a friend who made a smooth transition to UofT from College with maximum credits granted (1 full year). Here CGPA in College was 3.9/4.0.

    • U of T only take the credit from university level, not college level.

        • Dota,nice to see u again,hehe.....
one of classmates already transferred to U of T,but none of the credits from Centennial was admitted by it although her GPA is good.
The other that, I heard from my prefessor that Ryerson has an agreement with Centennial,so in his point,Ryerson will give me many credits transfer but York or U of T won't. However,as you know,I've already got York's 90 credits granted. Do you think Ryerson will give me more?? Actually, before today,I already decided to go to York, but now........hard decision.
          • many reasons
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Depending on the content of the courses at Centennial, your friend didn't get any credits may be due to the following: 1) courses that are too easy or general (ie: Acamdemic upgrading courses and introduction to ________ courses may not be recognized) 2) if your friend took some engineer courses, they will 100% won't be recognized by an University in Ontario. 3) did not received a diploma from centennial

There are many other reasons for UofT to not granting credits such as the nature of the program at UofT and the nature of your friend's centennial program. They might not be related.

I think 90 credits is the maximum you will get from any university. However, that 90 credits were out of my expectations, again, nothing is for certain. Ryerson's Business management program have agreements with all Ontario Colleges. The agreement was that students who graduated with a 3 year diploma in business related area may apply for direct entery to year 3 of the Bcom program. unless there is another agreement which I don't know about.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
