工作在network security or game field.

    • You're in US now
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Your whole track is:
      1) immigrate to canada in 2001
      2) find a job within 12 hours
      3) Enrolled a master program in late 2002 or early 2003 (quit your job?)
      4) graduate and get master degree in middle of 2004
      5) stay in china for 20 months and earned from 100K to 200K
      6) leave china in early 2006 (get disappointed finally?)
      7) After come back, maybe due to disappointed with both canada and china, you get a TN and work in US now

There was a film called "Out of Aferica". Your experience can be called "Out of China" + "Out of Canada".

My question is: You've been working in china for quite a few years and earned 100K before immigrated to canada. Why you stepped back again to waste your 20 months? Do not argue with me that life is experience. Nobody will go to africa to gain any experiences.

If my guessing is correct, I think you're looking for a buffer before you find a job in US. A job in china or canada can both be an good option for a temporay stay. Your objective is to go to US.

This might have to be the destiny for every technology-oriented people. China absolutely is not a paradise for these people. Canada's job market is too small and crowded with qualified people.

I remembered your new job is Microsoft SDET, maybe I'm wrong.
You've been working in china for quite a few years and earned 100K before immigrated to canada. Why you stepped back again to waste your 20 months?"
        • Because he said he earned 100K before left for canada in 2001.
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Maybe he did not work long enough before he emmigrated. So he still kept some dreams about the career in china.

The 20 months is a good chance to vanish his "Gold Rush" dream in china.

Someone might think they can make difference in china with a canadian passport and a canadian degree. No way, unless you're senior management, senior financial staff, or senior sales.

Most of people here are technical persons. They might find a 200K or 300K job for a few years. But if they cannot find a chance (they have to have these abilities too) to step up and chance their roles successfully, they will be laid-off sooner than in NA. Many companies are moving their development centres into Chengdu, Xi'an because they have got tired of high cost in SH, BJ, SZ.

          Wake up, Hai-gui day-dreamers!

The problem is not if 200KRMB=60KCAD. 200K technical positions are the one to be substituted in china. But if you lost of a job of 60K, you can find a equivalent one or even higher if enconomy is not very bad.

The huawei people who earned 400K is asking if he should go to canada. He knew pretty well that he cannot find a job in canada to compete his 400K income in china. But he concerned about how long can he earn 400K in china. It could be one year, or 2 year, but he has no confidence to earn another 10 years as he is 36-year-old.

This is the major problem of china's job market. Nobody has confidence to maintain his income and life standard for long time.
          • Well, a couple of my friends in SH was making 400K-500K back in 2004. Now they are making 800K. As long as China's economy keeps growing and foreign investment keeps flowing in, the salary should rise. My two cents.
              • It all depends on the industry. Some people are just lucky to be there. Say, investment banks, law firms and consulting firms.
              • So, if you have a job in SH paying 800K as a manager, and you find a job in Canada 100K as a senior analyst, which one will you choose?
                • First of all, companies are not stupid in SH. If someone is willing to pay u 800k, u must be living without any life there. Secondly, if u can get 800k annual pay in SH, u can definitly get more than 100k in Canada.
(pls note I said 10几万 in my post) So ur conditions are not comparable.
                  • Blindly and affirmatively supporting you...
                • SH of course. But if 300K RMB, I will not accept. If 400K, I will think over.
            • These 400K-500K or 800K is guarenteed not a technical position. So please check yourself if you're capable. Wu Zheng, Yang Lan are earning many million per year. But we cannot copy their life.
              • These are professional jobs, they are not necessary mangers who supervise people. They are consultants. Some of them are pretty technical.
      • victor, you didn't get my whole history. I will talk with you about them later. Thx for your interests. some of your understanding are not correct.
      • OMG.
        You are like a detective...:)
