I was reluctant to post an answer first. Because if I were you, I won't even consider it.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛For new immigrants from China, the ONLY place to land is Toronto.
Some say Vancouver has wamer climate, then why don't you go HaiNan?
Some say Montreal has government subside. If you are looking for
that, why come to Canada?

For new immigrants, the most important thing is to find a career
or at least a job. We Chinese like "Kai Yuan Jie Liu" or 'earn more
and spend less'. You land in Montreal, you spend less. But the bottom
line is your ability to earn. Otherwise, sooner or later, you end
up with pennyless.

Toronto, as the economic centre of Canada, has far more job
opportunities than another places in Canada. It is obvious
you get a job easier in Toronto. It is said in a movie that
if I were in Roman time, I would go to Roma, because Roma
is the centre of the world. Think about it. Now in Canada
we are in Toronto time, we go to Toronto.

Vancouver and Montreal both have their benefits. The local
governments must have boasted for that already. The thing is
you must know what is your first important issue. Never forget
that. In Vancouver, there is only few Universities. There is
already no job opportunity, if you can't get university
education, HOW CAN YOU SURVIVE??? In Montreal, people with
only English background has already been treated differently.
May I ask if your Eglish is already as good as those
English speaking Canadians? So can imagine to have a life
better than them? English is so hard for us, do
you think Franch is easier? again, HOW CAN YOU SURVIVE there?

Sometimes, you can't have a try first. Life won't reward you
just because you dare to risk. So many people landed in Toronto
successfully, why don't just follow the trend?

I sincerely wish that you would give up even a bit consideration
of going to Vancouver or Montreal. Please don't. Facing the
challenging job market is unavoidable. Please do not postpone it.

I also wish all of we Chinese new immigrants have better life
every day.

Montreal?

      • 1,No problem. 2. yes, about 2~3 month. 3,french is difficult. 7~10 month of COFI, the level depend on yourself. 4.sorry, I got no idea
        • May I buy the ticket directly to Montreal? Or, I must clear the custom in Toronto, and then go to Montreal? Thanks
          • no flight directly to Montreal, you have to stop at Vancouver.
            • Thanks, Jack. I was meaning that if my destination indicated on the LP is other city than Montreal, may I landed in Montreal directly ( apply SIN card, etc.). Many thanks.
              • you can land everywhere in Canada whatever what's on your lp
Rock Jack——thanks a lot! I greatly appreciate your warm hearts!Happy new year and best wishes to you!
        • Rock Jack:

            • Thanks, Rock Jack

        • Since my brother is already there, I plan to land in Montreal.
