sure. I think cities adopt energy saving standard at different pace. In my area, the lefty city leadership already adopted the most strict energy standard, now the wall needs to achieve R26. Really insane consider it has the most mild climate in canada.

很多commercial的建筑用这种材料，民宅很少，除非自建的或翻建的，感觉应该是市场上这种材料不多，不容易买到，还有就是成本价格比木料高，施工难度也不一样

wrong! it is actually better than wood. only problem is the price. Canada post heavy duty on China made steel, otherwise this thing can be dirt cheap.

木头容错性强 烧起来需要时间才能坍塌 钢铁遇火很快就软了 塌的更快 而且对人伤害更大 参见911世贸大楼 依赖进口钢造房子损害加拿大林业 等于坏了根基

so many thing may negatively impact wood, temperature, moisture, etc. Steel is a lot more stable. Modern home relies on drywall for fire protection, that little advantage is really not much, even more so when consider we are talking about 2 story home.
