本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Following words are quoted from a letter sent by one of our alumni. Maybe it can give you some insights.
I am seeking students who are interested in becoming financial advisors in the future. It is not an easy business to get hired in and as the markets have been down for the past three years, so have employment opportunities. Most firms will not hire a brand new person to the industry. They take people who have at least a year or two experience.
The drop out rate is one of the highest in any type of business in the first three years due to the difficulty of getting things started. Therefore, my offer is this. I am taking on cold callers to work on 100% commission basis. The benefit of this is:
1.) Cold calling is a big part of the job and it will allow the person to see if they can handle it.
2.) Commissions can be greater then paying an hourly rate for the caller.
3.) Exposure to the inner workings of the investment advisors world.
4.) EXPERIENCE.
Imagine you were a new recruit at a job interview. There are 10 other applicants all new to investment business. You are the only one who has experience in cold calling AND working on commission. All others being equal, who do you think they will hire?
This is not for people looking to make some extra money to pay the rent each month. It is for people who like to have Royal Bank on their resume in the investment business. The job title is "Marketing Assistant".更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
